Change Begins with Awareness
This week we are to give “No Opinions”.
No opinions – none!
If we have a World Class area of expertise and someone asked, FOR OUR OPINION, fine.
Otherwise, NO OPINION. Period.
If they do not say, “what is your opinion?” – do NOT offer.
A thought is neutral. It is neither good or bad. Our opinions are our ego. What “we” want to say, how “we” think the situation should be played out. We attach to our opinions to give us comfort and a feeling of control. This makes detachment impossible, trapping us unconsciously to the Cement Buddha. And boy, do we love our opinions!
We are asked to be aware of how constantly we give our opinions. First we are to shut them off verbally. Then quit sharing our opinions with ourself in our head. Second step, easier said than done.
Master Key 5 – 6
Again, this mind which pervades our physical body is not only the result of hereditary tendencies, but is the result of home, business and social environment, where countless thousands of impressions, ideas, prejudices and similar thoughts have been received. Much of this has been received from others, the result of opinions, suggestions or statements; much of it is the result of our own thinking, but nearly all of it has been accepted with little or no examination or consideration.
Master Key 5 – 8
This, then, is the way we are consistently creating and recreating ourselves; we are today the result of our past thinking, and we shall be what we are thinking today, the Law of Attraction is bringing to us, not the things we should like, or the things we wish for, or the things some one else has, but it brings us “our own,” the things which we have created by our thought processes, whether consciously or unconsciously. Unfortunately, many of us are creating these things unconsciously.
Time and again, through the Master Key Experience, we have been encouraged to become the Observer. To notice and observe our behaviors and habits.
To become the observer is vital in changing yourself and the outcome of your life. It requires that you be non-judgemental and present, which is a much different mind set than most of us are used to living.
Master Key 5 – 9
If either of us were building a home for ourselves, how careful we would be in regard to the plans; how we should study every detail; how we should watch the material and select only the best of everything; and yet how careless we are when it comes to building our Mental Home, which is infinitely more important than any physical home, as everything which can possibly enter into our lives depends upon the character of the material which enters into the construction of our Mental Home.
The Master Key Experience has given us many tools to make this shift.
The Big Four:
DMP + PMA/MK + POA + MMA = New Reality
Emotionally hold the thought
Do the work. Realize that these are exercises not assignments.
The time that we spend in the “sit” helps us to become more aware of our inner state.
The visualizations that Haanel leads us through helps us as we begin to “see” our DMP and Press Release. The life that is oxygen for our soul.
You no longer judge your thoughts and emotions. You take it easier on yourself. You stop fearing those dark thoughts and start to second-guess your ego when it becomes inflated.
Being aware enough to observe yourself takes time but just like anything the more you do, the better you get.
Observation is not about being judgmental, it is not about good or bad, it is about seeing the world around you.
So start with being honest with yourself. Do you really want to change?
